Born and raised in Boca Raton, Larry began his career as a finishing carpenter in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1980, he returned to Florida to be closer to family after his father’s cancer diagnosis. Following his father’s advice, Larry purchased a 1964 step van, placed a one-dollar ad in the newspaper, and launched what would become Coastal Van Lines.
What started as delivering kitchen cabinets soon grew into a full-service moving company. Larry’s hands-on approach – unboxing and setting cabinets in place rather than just dropping them off – built his reputation for care and reliability. Word spread quickly, and Larry learned the lesson that would define the company: Coastal Van Lines wasn’t just in the moving business, it was in the business of transporting people’s most valued possessions with personalized service.
More than four decades later, Larry remains deeply involved in the company he built, serving as both a financial advisor and a member of the Board. Today, his greatest pride is seeing the next generation carry the business forward – his two children, Jake and Jenna, who work alongside each other to continue the legacy of family, community, and care that Coastal Van Lines was founded on.
Beyond the business, Larry is a very active member of Rotary and a passionate tennis player. Whether giving back to the community or staying on the court, he brings the same dedication and energy that have guided him throughout his life and career.
